A Note from Me
48 Hours in Savannah
My Homemade Roadtrip Juice
No News This Week!
We did our first road trip as a family of three – in my EV. It turns out that running the a/c on full blast in 90+ degree Georgia heat will deplete the battery rather quickly. On our way from Atlanta to Savannah we had to charge the car twice.
Since we don’t have a Tesla, we found ourselves waiting for the one ChargePoint fast charger in the middle of nowhere… and then waiting another 40 minutes to actually charge.
It’s part of the adventure though, and I still love my EV. We killed time in a gas station, two Mexican restaurants, and a pizza place.
Lessons learned: buy an adapter so we can use Tesla chargers. And pack way better snacks and car activities to head off baby meltdowns.
Now onto the fun part: transforming a weekend in Savannah into a wellness getaway.
I tapped the ever-talented Chloe Gordon Cordover, a Savannah local and Dieline writer, to uncover the best gems in the city.
Save this list for the next time you’re craving a relaxing weekend away with a dash of Southern hospitality.
Your Ultimate Wellness-y Guide to Savannah, GA
Shop
Forsyth Farmer’s Market
“Steps from [Hotel Bardo!]”
(More on the hotel in a sec!)
Brighter Day Natural Foods Market
“A cute little local market! They have a smoothie and sandwich bar in the back.”
This boutique market also has refill stations for soap, a wide selection of bulk items, and a unique selection of secondhand wellness books. 10/10 recommend.
Asher + Rye
“My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Plus, there’s a little store attached!”
The accompanying store carries eco-friendly cleaning supplies, Montessori style baby toys, and the cutest wicker baskets perfect for toting to the farmer’s market.
Provisions
“An adorable little shoppy shop.”
I spent so much money here. Such a thoughtful selection of premium food brands and natural wine.
Stay / Do
Our goal: Find a hotel where we could spend the entire weekend and never leave if we didn’t want to.
Hotel Bardo fit the bill.
This new urban resort is inclusive of a large pool, modern spa, fitness classes and a full gym, two restaurants, a bar, cooking classes, and plenty of quiet corners to lounge. The rooms are spacious too!
Wormsloe State Historic Site
“Wormsloe State Historic site is gorgeous.”
Tybee Island
“If you have a car, it’s worth driving to. Super cute little beach town with lots of little shops and restaurants.”
Go on Walks
“Jones Street is my favorite street in the city. Walk Broughton Street for shopping.”
Yep, Savannah is a walking girl’s dream come true — flat streets lined with mossy trees and little parks dotting the city.
I also suggest:
Forsyth Park
Wake up early to beat the heat and enjoy a stroll (or run). This 30-acre park is the best part of Savannah in my opinion, and it’s across the street from Hotel Bardo.
Jepson Center
A contemporary art and children’s museum that’s worth a pop-in.
Saltgrass Spa
I enjoyed the most relaxing facial here! Located in Hotel Bardo.
Eat
Kayak Kafé
“The pita is SO good, and the chocolate banana smoothie is my kryptonite.”
Shuk
“It’s like a local CAVA. It’s not anything super special, but a good lunch spot!”
Hirano’s
“This is a hole in the wall, local favorite sushi spot. Jake and I go once a week.”
Collins Quarter
Chloe and I met here for a light brunch, and I was impressed with the matcha, the vibes, and the number of nutritious options on the menu.
Chive Sea Bar & Lounge
“My neighbors have mentioned it’s their favorite restaurant in Savannah.”
Common Thread
“Probably my favorite restaurant in Savannah. It’s in a beautiful old house and the service is incredible. Obviously the food is too.”
In addition to fresh seafood and other coastal dishes, this restaurant offers an extensive vegetarian menu.
+ In addition to Chloe’s picks, I also recommend:
Wildflower Cafe
A fresh, local, seasonal menu inside the beautiful Jepson Center.
The Sentient Bean
A lowkey coffee shop with a selection of healthyish breakfast, coffee, and matcha.
Bull Street Taco
My husband’s pick for fresh, casual Mexican. I got the poké bowl

Food Files
A featured favorite recipe related to the theme of the week. This time, I’m sharing the clean-out-the-fridge cold-pressed juice I made to take with us on the road.
1 head of celery
1 handful of arugula
1 yellow bell pepper
1 head (or so) broccoli
3 limes
1 inch fresh ginger
I use the Nama juicer!
